SharePoint Quick Surveys 1.0.3 – regionalisation
Version 1.0.3 of the SharePoint Quick Surveys web part is now available in the downloads section. The full source code and setup kits are provided as separate downloads.

There are a few changes in this release, most noteable of which is that the web part has now been translated into a number of European languages including:
- English
- Dutch
- French
- German
- Spanish
- Norwegian
- Russian
The language of the control is determined by the site’s regional settings or by those of the user if they have specified their own. If the language is unsupported then English is used as a fallback. Both the tool panes and the user prompts have been translated.
In addition to the translations there have been a number of fixes and changes.
Users with only view permissions on the survey
In this release it is possible for users who have only view permissions on the survey to see the survey results. In this case the user is not given the option to complete the survey (as obviously they can’t). They can, however, see the chart results.
Cache enhancements
The result caching logic has been updated to ensure that when users submit new responses the graphical result is immediately invalidated. This means that other users of the site can see the changes straight away. This should help out a few users who have reported that the cache duration was longer than they would have liked.
Bug fixes
There are some minor bug fixes in this release. The most important of these are:
- There was a rounding error in the pie chart rendering code. This sometimes resulted in the last slice being slightly short of completing the whole. This has now been corrected.
- Choice options where the value included a # symbol were incorrectly displayed twice due to a parsing error. This too has been corrected in this release.
That’s about it. Hopefully people will find this release useful.
